Video on re-potting orchids
It is truly amazing what you can find on eHow.com. At our last meeting I asked Anne Marie Crocker how to re-pot an orchid and she said to bring one in and she would show me. In the meantime Deen Brais found a wonderful video from eHow that answers my question with a step-by-step demonstration. Take a look at it by clicking on this link:
Thanks Deen!

Flower Power spring bulb sale
Henrietta Coolman is spearheading a Garden Club Flower Power fundraiser to benefit our club financially, and to offer us an opportunity to purchase nice perennials and summer-blooming bulbs. Contact Henrietta, Sheila Anderson, Dean Brais, Louise Crane or Sam Gardiner for order forms. Bulbs will be mailed to your house and the postage will be $5 for each member’s order regardless of the number of items you order. The club will receive half of all proceeds from the sale. There will be a website for ordering as well. Stay tuned for further information.
February Horticultural tip
Check pot bound houseplants. If the roots are protruding from the sides as well as the bottom of the root ball, move plant to a bigger pot. In a new pot the root should have an inch clearance all around.
